I’m no expert, but couldn’t a more moderately sized computer solve that problem if you just let it compute for ages on end? Of course that way it may take longer to compute it than the planets would take to arrive at the positions we’re trying to find out, but technically that would make it possible to find out. Without waiting and seeing. Besides, a margin of error of just ten feet for the movements of planets is surrealistically much to ask.
