As doctors, the first rule should be ‘Do no harm.’ Telling this person the details of her condition would not make any difference to improve her outcome, in fact, it would probably do more damage. If she had been a sexually confused teen, telling her could probably make sense, but the fact that her sexually and gender role was solidly formed to her psychologically, the details could possibly harm her sense of self for no other reason than just dealing out facts. Just my opinion.
