Mass flow rate is the amount of Mass moving through an instrument over time
Units of measure for volumetric Flow rate are meter3 /second, liters/second or feet3 /hour
The unit of measure is mass per unit of time. It can be expressed as pounds /hour or kilogram/second
To measure Volumetric flow rate, positive displacement meters, turbine flow meters are used.
To measure mass flow rate, Coriolis flow meters, thermal mass flow meters etc. are used.
Volumetric flow rate = Velocity of flowing fluid x Area.
Mass flow rate = volumetric flow rate x density
