This is a rather troublesome problem. Whether or not you follow what is good for the company or what is good for the customers is very important. If some customers return a product, how do you handle that? Refuse and lose your customers? Or accept and bear some additional loss?

Normally, many companies shall prepare a specific procedure in relation to returned goods. In typical situation, the salesman may accept the return and try to recommend to replace it with a new one. In other cases, if it is discovered that the goods is of no fault from the manufacturer or the store, which means the customer is intending to trick you. Then, refuse the return and explain about the fault.
