One: It has been narrated in the hadith that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to raise his hands in four places of prayer. Those places are: the time of tahreema in takbeer, the time of ruku'ala , the time of rising from ruku 'and the time of rising from the second rak'ah or the first tashahhud. The evidence for this is narrated by Imam Bukhari (639) from Nafe (R) that Ibn ' Umar (R) used to say takbeer and raise both hands when he wanted to enter the prayer. He used to raise both hands when he bowed . حَمِدَهُ used to say that he used to raise both his hands. When he got up from two rak'ats he used to raise both his hands. Shaykh 'Uthaymeen (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "There are four places for raising the hand: the time of tahreema in takbeer, the time of ruku'ah , the time of rising from ruku ' and the time of standing from the first tashahhud." The description reads: "Hands should be raised along the shoulders". In another narration: "Hands should be raised up to the ears". Narrated Abdullah bin Umar: I saw the Messenger of Allah , may Allah bless him and grant him peace , raise his hands so that when he was standing in prayer , so that his hands were close to his shoulders. And when he used to say سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ . He would not do it like this while prostrating. " When he used to utter, he would raise both his hands so that his hands would be along with his ears . (391)] On the basis of this, the scholars have differed on the method of raising the hand: Some scholars are of the opinion: raising the hand up to the shoulder. The purpose is to have the palms of the hands along the shoulders. This is the opinion of Umar bin Khattab (R) , his son Abdullah (R) and Abu Hurairah (R). This is the opinion of Imam Shafi'i in the text "Al-Umm". Imam Shafi'i's students also hold this view. This is also the opinion of scholars like Imam Malik , Imam Ahmad , Ishaq and Ibnul Munzir ; As mentioned in Al-Majmoo (3/306). And the madhhab of Imam Abu Hanifa (R) is: Hands should be raised along the ears. There is another tradition from Imam Ahmad: one can choose between the two methods. One method has no special status over the other. Ibn al-Munzir has also narrated this opinion from some of the Ahl al-Hadith and praised this opinion. Albani said: This is Haqq. Both are Sunnah. Many of our Muhaqqiq scholars, such as Ali al-Qari and Sindhi Hanafi , have leaned towards this view. [See: Al-Albani's "Aslu Sifati Salatin Nabiyy Allahu alayhi wa sallam" (1/202)] Two: It is Sunnah to raise one's hand in the aforesaid places of prayer Al-Mawsua al -Fiqhiya (26/95) states: The scholars of the Shafi'i school and the Hanbali school have agreed that it is a provision of the Shari'ah to 'raise one's hand ' while bowing and rising from the bow and it is a Sunnah of prayer. Suyuti said: "Rafi'i Yadain (raising hands) is narrated by the narration of fifty companions from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)." Even if a worshiper does not perform iyadin (raising of hands) anywhere in the whole prayer, it will not affect the purity of his prayer. But that person left a Sunnah of prayer and was deprived of thawab. If there is a deficiency in the method of raising the hand in spite of Rafi Yadain or raising the hand, as is the case with you, it is easier to leave Rafi Yadain at all. In light of the above discussion: you have made a small mistake in raising your hand and you have corrected that mistake ; This will not affect the purity of your prayers. The advice for you is: You don't have to exaggerate and artificially raise your hand. If you find that your arms are not fully aligned with your shoulders , you do not need to lift your arms again. Because it will bring suspicion and suspicion among you and will cause you to repeat the prayers without any reason. And that's worse than making the slightest mistake in lifting a hand. GOD is Omniscient.
