I’m not really one to do Ebay, but on the rare occasion that I do I would be crushed to receive a negative feedback. So I don’t know if it necessarily applies specifically to Ebay (or maybe it does), but your theory definitely suits my personality. I strove for straight A’s in school, and I definitely appreciate positive feedback. I could probably admit that anything that “verifies” that “hey, this person is pretty ok!” makes me feel content.
