As a child in boarding school the young Ebenezer was more ofless abandoned by his father. He would stay at the school as theonly boarder at holiday times and even over *********. His onlycompanion was his books of Robinson Crusoe and Ali Barber. Thesemeant that he didnt grow up in a loving family, didn't experiencethe joy and excitement of the ********* season. It did meanloneliness and the feeling of isolation where only he could makehis life feel worth while. We he left and was apprenticed to Mr Fezziwig The young adultScrooge saw compassion, he experience a working environment whichlooked after him and stated to see ********* as a special timebecause Fezziwig helped others who had nothing at that time andgave, if only a small amount in the way of food to support them.Sadly Fezziwig despite his humanitarian attitude was made bankrupt. He lost everything and was sent to Debtor's Prison. During thistime Scrooge met and fell in love with Belle, The made a promise tomarry. Because Scrooge had seen what being nice could bring hefocused fully on making money as this appeared to be a safe haven. If you had money then you would not be treated like dear oldFezziwig. THis was not to be the case as his fixation soon tookover and Belle saw another love in her Ebenezers life, money! Shebroke off their engagement meaning that again someone close hadbeen lost. His sister Fan died in childbirth this to impacted onhim dearly as it was Fan that had persuaded their father to bringher beloved brother Ebenezer home from boarding school. With so much loss Scrooge took it up on himself never to allowother close as he felt they would be lost to him. Thereafter hedidnt mix with people, work and money making was his only love ,his only friend was Jacob Marley who like Scrooge liked to makemoney. ********* was nothing to Scrooge except reason to take moneyoff him. he'd never really experienced it in a positive way. Tosupport this we hear the Ghost of ********* Present say to Scroogeup on their first meeting, You've never known the like of me haveyou scrooge?) meaning you have never known a true *********.
