Boiled potatoes have high carbs in it. And it also has resistant starch in it, a kind of starch that won't by the body. The most part of carbohydrates in potatoes are converted into resistant starches which helps in resisting digestion. As a result of these resisting starch and high carbs in it,  potatoes suppress hunger quickly for a long period of time. Resistant starch in potatoes will decrease while boiling. But it will gain more resistant starch again if allow it to cool. The high resistant starch and high carbs in potatoes make one feel fullness of stomach fast and thus stop one from high intake of food. So a plan of eating boiled potatoes to gain weight will  work not  the work as the way you think. Instead it may loss your weight in certain conditions.
