My wife cooks a **** roast in the crock pot overnight. she cleans the roast with water and sometimes even soap. place in crock pot. salt and pepper. enough water halfway up the side of roast. cover and set dial on medium. the roast will cook overnight and should be ready the next morning. the smell will drive you crazy and the smell will tell you if the roast is done.
