Interview questions: A customer leaves without paying for gas, what would you do?
Answer tips/answer samples:
This is just a hypothetical situation which can be asked by the employer to evaluate your ability to solve a common problem in relation to a retail job. To answer this question, you may refer to the following samples:
• I will use the customer information and contact him soon to remind him of not yet paying for the bill. As this may be his honest mistake, I will be very gentle and cleverly remind him of the situation and request him to pay the money;
• If the customer is a familiar one, I will just need to note this in the sale book and notify my colleagues so that they may remind the customer later when he comes to the store again;
• That mistake may not be intentionally as the customers are likely in a rush. So, I will approach the situation in gentle method;
• If I can remember the car license plate or name of the customers, that will be the best. In addition, I may check the bill to see his details that may be useful in contacting him. Then, I will report to the manager for direction.
